We have had a recent influx of questions about a November preorder Mech and questions surrounding what Mech would be shipping in January. We thought it would be a good idea to share...
The Skye Rangers Brigade has a long tradition of service and loyalty to House Steiner through four long and grueling Succession Wars spanning hundreds of years. Once again civil war threatens the Great Houses of the Inner Sphere. Our Mechwarriors have been called home, allies will be chosen, enemies vanquished, and battles fought on distant worlds under far off suns...the Federation of Skye will now decide its destiny...
Welcome to the Home Base of the Skye Rangers, located on the dark and beautiful planet Summer, within the Federation of Skye.
SECTOR REPORT: Steiner Space PLANET OF ORIGIN: Summer UNIT: Skye Rangers SUB UNIT: 17th Regiment ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After the Family Idaho spent so much of their political capitol positioning Ferrous Idaho as the Colonel of the 17th Regiment of the Skye Rangers, the fall from power and status was deemed to be inevitable. Col Ferrous Idaho has seen a very high attrition rate since the Battle of Tukayyid. Many of the 17th were MIA after the colossal Inner Sphere response to the Clan Invasion. Some of the MechWarriors have taken some contracts for CBills in less formidable drop zones and have seen some success there. Moreover the time Ferrous has spent recovering from the wounds sustained and the appearances at courtly functions he made for his niece have left the 17th without an active leader. To make up for the loss in pay and influence the Idaho family have been seen making overtures towards merc companies that would prize his skills and pay well.
Further eroding of their station in House Steiner happened just a few months ago with the death of Markus Grendall, husband to Kaylee Idaho-Grendall, Ferrous Idaho’s niece. The Idaho investment block disappeared the body to Medi-iian. An unusual Clan attack burst onto the main capitol in a planetary assault wave, destroyed the main Citadel, removing all evidence of the murder. The rumours of the affair that sparked the marital implosion with one of the 17th’s officers still circulate in the castles of Summer.
*Poptart climbs up to the make-shift podium, obviously worse for wear having fought many recent battles, but still put on a decent coat, and dress hat for the address.*
His audience, Clanner Nobility, Planetary Civilians on this Clanner planet, his fellow last surviving Skye Ranger captives, and transmitted across deep space to the Innersphere Houses tuned in to the horrifying ordeal.
*Poptart clears a coarse throat, and begins steadily*
Greetings Rangers, Greetings Allies,
As many of our brothers have perished while captive here on this Clanner hell-hole, only two teams yet survive and must now face off. We've been told the victor will be given safe passage home to Innersphere space, a mock trophy to remember at what cost their survival has been, and premium time dolled out to the victors by the Clanner Nobility.
Indeed much of this cursed planet's population will be watching the Final Match this week/weekend. It will be televised and commentated I am to inform you. *Pop scoffs*
...Lets give these bastards the show they've been craving. Lets show them how ruthlessly we battle, even our own kin, when given no other choice. We will give example of how the Innersphere convert Mech into Scrap, exactly as the surviving team will do as it returns with an army to avenge our fallen Regimental Brothers. They will pay DEARLY for this...on the honor of my word.
*Poptart squints, holds a grim visage, and Salutes long and hard*
Here are the final Standings set to kick off the Tournament Final Match.
"SR10ZEN" will face off against "The Mighty Morphin Skye Rangers", and may the odds be ever in your favor.
Ferrous has confirmed his retirement as RCOM of the 17th SR. In his own words:
"As I cannot manage my RL commitments and recruit competitive players to the Regiment/Brigade, I leave the 17th for someone that wants to make it their own and has the spirit to attract like minded players.
See you in the dropships!"
Ferrous will be sorely missed at the helm of the 17th and has done a great job managing his unit. Per his request, Ferrous is being transferred to the Dropship Reserves. We wish him well and thank him for his dedicated service.
Since, we will need a replacement RCOM for one of our more active regiments, the XO (Hrunting) and myself are now accepting applications.
In 3132, eighty percent of the hyperpulse generators in the Inner Sphere shut down, silencing virtually all interstellar communications between the thousands of worlds humankind called home. Remembering the horrors of the Jihad that ended just half a century before, paranoid citizens and opportunistic leaders across the Sphere instinctively girded for the invasions that were sure to come. As ancient rivals once again turned against each other, the Republic of the Sphere—once a beacon of hope for billions—found itself nearly torn asunder by hostile neighbors on every side.
A new Dark Age had begun.
Era Report: 3145 describes the state of the Inner Sphere at critical age in BattleTech history: the years of the Dark Age era. Presented as a general overview of the period, rather than a focused report on a single conflict, this book includes descriptions of every major Inner Sphere faction active in the wake of the catastrophic failure of the interstellar HPG grid. Notable personalities, military forces, and an overview of the technological capabilities of the Dark Age era are also provided, along with special advanced-level rules for campaigns set during this time, whether played using the Total Warfare core rules or those found in A Time of War: The BattleTech RPG.
MWOWC EU-Team: today seems to be the last opportunity to grab em prices for participation in the MWOWC. So in case you CAN attend tonight, it would be appreciated highly! I want at least one EON-component as a hanging cockpit item!
You kids with your newfangled toys! Back in my day, we had to push the AC grenades into the enemy armor by mech-hand! Our cockpits never went below 40° Celsius and our lasers went PEEEWW instead of pewpewpewpewpew!
Also important thing for those who didn't know. After this patch you can now take any mech from mechbay into training grounds with unsaved loadout. Bascially allowing you to try out different builds/skills without spending cbills/xp.
Hey William! Nice to have ye back! Can you invite Gri3f3r and CrashSteel into the academy please so they have a bigger bunch of ppl to play with? Pretty nice folks from what I have seen until now. Thx!
Tonight (EU-Time): Team Bravo does MWOWC18 drops to get the games needed for prices! Show up + participate, so we can spread PGI's blessings between as many Rangers as possible. Check the thread in TacCom-Subforum, contact via PM or show up on TS!
