We have had a recent influx of questions about a November preorder Mech and questions surrounding what Mech would be shipping in January. We thought it would be a good idea to share...
The Skye Rangers Brigade has a long tradition of service and loyalty to House Steiner through four long and grueling Succession Wars spanning hundreds of years. Once again civil war threatens the Great Houses of the Inner Sphere. Our Mechwarriors have been called home, allies will be chosen, enemies vanquished, and battles fought on distant worlds under far off suns...the Federation of Skye will now decide its destiny...
Welcome to the Home Base of the Skye Rangers, located on the dark and beautiful planet Summer, within the Federation of Skye.
Below is a submission for the Ground Pounders Medal for GenQuarters, written by Clownwarlord
It was only during 3032 when the first vat grown warriors where thought to have been made by H.R. McIntyre taking over the "Black Warriors", proof of this is GenQuarters, also known as 'GQ', who dates his birth back to 6573 days. You usually find him piloting an oinker (ON1K) or a stolen Boom Jager where he tally his kills one after another. Currently totaling 1178 confirmed kills which puts him in contention for the Ground Pounders award. Usually when you don't find him in a mech though you find this vat baby lost in the woods, he calls it camping and bow hunting, but in truth we call it being lost. So as for being one of Otto's Hounds of the Kell Hounds I respectfully request that GenQuarters be given the award of Ground Pounders for his work done in service of the Steiner House with his current count of 1178 kills. Thanks
Well Ladies and Gentlemen. Somehow this week we found enough time to work up a double header for all of you. With a slight change in format to keep from killing the Front page and getting Ashuraa after me with a mech battle Axe. And believe me she can wield a 20ton double bladed mech battle axe without a battle mech if she so chooses.
Here are the links to them in the Mech Bay for all of you to enjoy.
I just received this email from MR. Doggs and am very pleased to pass it on to you. It is an honour to grant my first medal.
Hello Skye Rangers!
Every once in a while I get to hand out an award to some very deserving mechwarrior. Today I get to do it again. With the help of his lancemates, ( HPTMerchant, NoBodie, and General Quarters) this pilot use
d skill, and surprise, to overcome great odds. We know Strapt to be an excellent pilot, and very capable. In light of his performance, and the comments from his lancemates, Strapt has earned the Honor of Skye medal. Below is his account of the events of the drop. Please join me in a big congrats! Mission Debriefing :
When exiting the drop ship my lance mates (Gen Quarters, Nobodie, HptMerchant ) and I were assigned the task of scouting the "saddle" within Crimson Straight. We expected this particular area to be the focal point of our opposition's attack. Upon arrival we noticed that the "saddle" had been ignored and our enemies were using a different tactic than originally thought. Piloting my Victor - 9S Equipped with duel AC 5's, 35 LRMs, a medium laser , and jump jets I took this as a unique opportunity to position myself high atop the peak so I may fire down missile support for my allies within the battle field.
Once I made it atop the mountain peak my lance mates encountered the enemies already engaged with our allies. Our allies were badly caught off guard and outnumbered by the time we were able to support them. The damage had already been done, but our lance bravely engaged. Out numbered and out gunned my lance fought valiantly and were able to take out three enemy mechs during the battle using well coordinated attacks focusing targets with direct attacks along with my missile support.
As the battle wore on I no longer was able to see my lance mates from atop the peak. Instead I just saw plumes of smoke to go along with blazing fire. I was only able to gather what was happening down on the battle field through radio transmission. Learning that my lance mates had lost their mechs and my Victor was the lone mech defending our mobile command center from the enemy assault I launched my last missile.
I no longer looked to where the battle took place but instead maneuvered my mech so that I had a good view of our mobile command center far in the distance. As I patiently waited hoping to get a glimpse of the last enemy lance. I caught a break. An enemy cicada came into my view weaving through the buildings at a fast pace far ahead of his lance mates approaching our command center. I knew I had to act fast to save the center from being damaged, but I resisted to urge to jump off the peak to chase the Cicada. Instead I formulated a plan to ambush the 3 lance mates trailing behind the Cicada scout.
Using my jump jets I descended down the rock face of the mountain peak and caught a "Jester" hero mech along with a Jager completely off guard when suddenly I appeared directly in front of them on the railroad tracks exiting the tunnel. The "Jester" stood no chance against the precise firing of my duel AC 5's. Based on the target information gathered by my module I was able to quickly pin point the hero mech's weaknesses from already being damaged in battle. I made short work of him taking very little damage. However now I stood toe to toe with a Jagermech DD who had already destroyed 4 of my allies. Making a quick observation I noticed his XL engine, and an Atlas looming in the rear. I fired 3 volleys of AC 5 shots destroying the Jager's engine then turned my attention to the approaching Atlas. Using my speed along with some expert jump jet maneuvers I was able to turn that big ol Atlas into an itty bitty match stick.
Soon after disabling the Atlas's weapons the last enemy Cicada wizzed by grazing me with laser fire. Using his speed and surroundings to his advantage he was able to escape me for a few moments. He then made a grave mistake. Trying to use the disabled Atlas as a shield he came out into the open. Upon exposing himself I was able to tear apart one of his legs and leave him severely damaged. Limping towards me the Cicada was able to continue firing his weapons. However my Victor was too fresh and too powerful for the Cicada. The disabled Atlas would work his way to our mobile command center. As he was no longer a threat I began imprinting "Skye-Rangers" all along his mech using my medium laser. My lance mates and I shared a good laugh and began to celebrate knowing that a crisis was averted.
Hats off to Nobodie , Gen Quarters, and Hpt Merchant who were able to damage our foes and relay crucial information to me from the battle field. Should I have any honors I would like to share them with my fellow lance mates.

MWOWC EU-Team: today seems to be the last opportunity to grab em prices for participation in the MWOWC. So in case you CAN attend tonight, it would be appreciated highly! I want at least one EON-component as a hanging cockpit item!
You kids with your newfangled toys! Back in my day, we had to push the AC grenades into the enemy armor by mech-hand! Our cockpits never went below 40° Celsius and our lasers went PEEEWW instead of pewpewpewpewpew!
Also important thing for those who didn't know. After this patch you can now take any mech from mechbay into training grounds with unsaved loadout. Bascially allowing you to try out different builds/skills without spending cbills/xp.
Hey William! Nice to have ye back! Can you invite Gri3f3r and CrashSteel into the academy please so they have a bigger bunch of ppl to play with? Pretty nice folks from what I have seen until now. Thx!
Tonight (EU-Time): Team Bravo does MWOWC18 drops to get the games needed for prices! Show up + participate, so we can spread PGI's blessings between as many Rangers as possible. Check the thread in TacCom-Subforum, contact via PM or show up on TS!
