This is not an option; it is a requirement. The GDL works as a single
unit. Where one fails, the others may fail. Mistakes happen; but
teamwork is about effective communication and working together to follow
orders. It's about innovative ideas and tactics and about accepting
critical feedback. It's about improving your skills as a pilot and
learning from mistakes. Teamwork is a way for personal growth.
With teamwork in mind, respect is not only earned, but also given. No
one pilot is better than another. Respect is to be given to a Private
First Class as much as it is to a General. Foul-mouthing of others will
in no way, shape, or form, be tolerated. If an issue arises between two
warriors, you should alert the proper authority in the chain of command
if it cannot be resolved personally. Likewise, it is YOUR responsibility
as part of the SR to report any inappropriate behavior you witness to
the proper authority. In the end, we are all a part of the Skye Rangers,
and more importantly, we are all fighting the same good fight.
It is the GDL's mission that leaders will coach and develop leaders.
With the previous two values of Teamwork and Respect in mind, each
warrior has the ability and potential to be a leader. On occasion, GDL
may ask that you lead a lance. We ask that you do not say "no" to this
request. If at any point during your leadership training you are unsure
of the best action available, ask for help! Learning from mistakes and
taking tactical advice is the first step into learning how to become a
leader. Take risks, trust and respect your lancemates, and you will find
yourself in the best position to eliminate any and all hostile units.
