History:  Before the Clans invaded, Clan Wolf sent a group of freebirth mechwarriors to the Inner Sphere. These mechwarriors formed a mercenary company known as the Wolf Dragoons, and their mission was to assess the situation of the Inner Sphere. Clan Smoke Jaguar did not trust Clan Wolf,  for they were a Warden Clan, reluctant to invasion, while the Jaguars were Crusaders who were anxious for battle.

Not wanting to waste resources by sending their high ranking officers and dropships, they decided to secretly pick some mechwarriors who had reached the rank of Star commander at best. Gunman was one of those Star Commanders.

He was quickly inserted into a mercenary company, in which he participated in several minor battles and behind-the-lines operations between the Federated Commonwealth, the Draconis Combine, and the Free Rasalhague Republic, and continuously sending information to the jaguars about the quality of Inner Sphere soldiers, and tactical situation between these houses.

When the Clans invaded, Gunman requested permission to the Smoke Jaguar High Command to return to join his comrades in battle against the Inner Sphere, but their answer was "Negative, proceed with your mission and engage friendly forces even if ordered to do so". Gunman tried to warn them that "Inner Sphere military tend to use mercenaries for more advanced operations than you think", but they replied "You shall do what you are told to do, Star Commander!", and that meant that his risk of being found by the IS military as a spy had increased and it would be too risky to get him back, so he might as well die.

Gunman continued with his mercenary company, the "Hanson's Roughriders", and participated in several battles against the clans, including the defense of Wolcott, Luthien, and even a secret operation to capture a 100t Kodiak Omnimech from the Ghost Bear's Legacy.

When the Battle of Tukayid was set, the Smoke Jaguars required all the warriors they could get, so Gunman finally returned to Huntress, in preparation for the battle. In the Battle of Tukayid, the Smoke Jaguars were massacred by Comstar forces, and Gunman was one of the few mechwarriors that managed to escape on the Jaguar's dropships.

As the newly formed Star League prepared a counter attack against Clan Smoke Jaguar, Archon Katrina Steiner of the Lyran Alliance started planning how to take control of the Federated Commonwealth, becoming the most powerful person in the known Universe, so she made a secret alliance with Clan Smoke Jaguar. During that alliance, there was an officer exchange program, in which several officers from House Steiner went to Smoke Jaguar territory and join bondsman forces, while Jaguar officers, such as Star Captain Gunman, were sent to the Lyran Alliance as reserve forces for the future civil war in the Inner Sphere.

When Operation Bulldog started, Gunman saw his clan fall planet by planet, so he knew all was lost for his clan, so that meant it was time for him to think about his own survival. He enlisted to join the Steiner battalion that would be attacking the planet Turtle Bay, where the Smoke Jaguars had destroyed the city known as Edo and everyone wanted revenge, but that wasn't the reason he was going there. During the conquering of that planet, Gunman found what he was looking for: Clan Smoke Jaguar Intelligence Archive, and disobeying orders, he destroyed the building containing that archive instead of capturing it.

Gunman never went to Court Martial for his act of insubordination, for his commanders thought he was berserk in revenge for the massacre at Edo, while he was really only making sure all records of his existence as a Clanner were destroyed. But, instead of returning to his old unit in House Steiner, Gunman was transferred to one of members of the Lyran Alliance, the Federation of Skye.

Gunman is now a member of the Skye Rangers, and tries to serve it with the same dedication he served his old dead Clan.

Motivations:  Gunman knows that the Federation of Skye is independent from House Steiner, so at anytime he may be engaging those who destroyed his Clan, and is sure that Skye Rangers can become the most powerful fighting army in both the Inner Sphere Houses and the Clans.

Skills:  Gunman masters the use of high punch precision weapons such as the PPC, the Gauss Rifle, and the LBX-20

Preferred Mechs:  generally, the Awesome, but a Daishi for long-range encounters, and a Mauler for close range encounters. All customized by him and very different from the originals.
