Hail, Skye Rangers of the 4th SR, and guests!

REGIMENT NEWS

* Action seems to have been quiet during the past couple of weeks, especially with my own operations.

* All 4th Rangers, feel free to try to help some of the cadet regiment members get their first recorded kills, and get them into the 4th. Our numbers could use some improvement, along with our activity. Don't forget to recruit your friends, neighbors and family into the SR!

* Our Team Warfare League drop Wednesday against the Orion Faction had pluses and minuses. On the plus side, we had 9 or 10 Rangers show up to do battle! This was the best turnout I believe the Skye Rangers have had for a TWL drop. Salute and congratulations to the Rangers who dedicated their time to support the unit's league efforts. On the down side, our organization was not at its best, there were a host of technical problems, some of the OF people were a little impatient and self-centered, and we lost. Despite this adversity, we fought well, and it is more experience of the heat of battle that will serve us well in future engagements. * 4th SR unit practices are scheduled weekly at these times: 8:30 p.m. Eastern Thursday and 10 a.m. Eastern Sunday. Our practices normally are held in the Skye Rangers 4th Open server on the Zone.

* We might have a friendly drop soon against the Skye Province Militia. RCOM Kap accepted our challenge. Stay tuned for details.

* Roster status:

Gallows -- Wednesday TWL drop, three or four Zone games.

Shadow -- No contact. Shadow, you are one week away from getting a ticket to the Dropship. Report in.

Eddy -- Wednesday TWL drop. RCOM not aware of other activity, but RCOM was not online much.

Hunter -- No contact. Reported in three weeks ago that he was entering a period of downtime.

Ibram Gaunt -- No contact. Gaunt, you are one week away from getting a ticket to the Dropship. Report in.

Has posted no kills and has been inactive as far as zonestats is concerned for the last quarter. As of today he is still not active. I am notifying you of week 3 of AWOL status consideration. I would like to place him into the Dropship Reserves as of this point. I will CC this and therefore notify him of his one week in the reserves. If he does not reply then I have no choice but to ask for his removal from the Skye Rangers.

Has been very active on the message board and has posted many kills. Has been an incredible asset to the 3rd SR and did participate in the TWL Drop against "Orion Faction" on the 14th of May, 2003.

I am very pleased at the current progress in the Skye Rangers. I am pleased to announce that the 3rd Skye Rangers had 3 out of 5 Mechwarriors in attendance at the TWL drop. I was also very pleased to see 5 other SR in attendance. I think a new age is dawning and the Skye Rangers are moving forward rather well. I would like to recommend EDDY for consideration as our new SaA, although he doesn't have time in grade, or years of skills, he makes up for it in determination and devotion. I think he would compliment our current Command Lance well. TAC CYBERSOLO is doing a fine job and should be thanked as well. His planning and organization has made the time at the start of each TWL drop less and less, as well as more enjoyable each and every time. I am very proud to be a part of the Skye Rangers and will continue to strive to make it so for others, especially those under my command. I am sorry for the tardiness of this report but I have been a little busy as of late and will be so next week too.

I am very pleased at the current progress in the Skye Rangers. I think having the RCOMs contacting Cadets is working out rather well for the 3rd. As you all can see I have recruited a few new MW for the cause and I am pleased with all of their performances. I think it is beneficial and would also behoove us to get the Skye Rangers servers up and running more regularly. If we make a good showing and fight fair we will get better more experienced MW. I am in the process of getting "Skye Rangers Open II" up and running on a TWL format so that we have a constant place to hone those skills. I encourage the rest of my fellow server supporters to try and keep their servers up more often. I thank the command lance for the opportunity to serve and pledge my life to the defense and honor of the Skye Rangers.

On Monday I hosted the SPM practice and we of the Militia were able to make the Rangers practice on Wednesday. Reddog and I had some good matches on Thursday with Eddy and The Militia has accepted a challenge against the 4th. I will let you know once all the details have been worked out. I would also like to let everyone know that I have brought my Hunchie out of retirement and all this weeks kills are due to my old friend the Hunchback. So Assault mechs beware. (right Reddog?) Unfortunately, I will most likely be unavailable for practice this weekend due to rebellion on the homefront. The Lady of the land feels we should worship her this weekend. Go figure. I will be back as soon as I crush this Rebellion.

We would also like to pledge our loyalty to Art and the Rangers of Skye.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the command lance for the awards bestowed upon me. I am merely a humble servant and do what I can to help out. If there is ever a need in the Skye Rangers I can be counted on. I feel then that it is my duty to put my hat in the ring and offer my services as SaA. I know Eddy has expressed interest, as well as maybe a few others. If one cannot be found and the current method of new recruits being contacted stops working I volunteer my services. I do however have one favor to ask. I do not want to leave the 3rd and the 17th RCOM less. I will not accept the position until a diligent RCOM, like myself, takes up the reigns of the 3rd and continues it on the path I have started. It doesn't seem like the current system is failing. I myself have contacted a few of the new recruits and have received positive feed back. I hope they all will be considered for deployment soon. I also have recruited a few new ones too, SHiva and Chironex. They are very promising and I hope they find there way to a good regiment. If you need me I will gather the reigns of the SaA, but all in all I like the 3rd RCOM position and don't want to leave all of the work that I have done for naught. Thank you.

REGIMENT NEWS

* Wednesday night's SR practice had some highlights for those Rangers who participated. I hope I don't leave anyone out, but practicing were Eddy, Cybersolo, Dark Raven, Skunk, and maybe one or two others (apologies if I am leaving you out). One Shoreline match was memorable. We displayed decent teamwork, and prevailed, in a 5x5 (8 humans and two bots). Eddy, Cybersolo and Dark Raven had heavy firepower and inflicted a lot of damage. They covered each other and did not do unnecessary rushing. Meanwhile, I took an Uller with 3 ML and 1 MPLS and caused havoc in the enemy's back yard. I believe I distracted their assaults quite a bit while my teammates blasted them from distance. I got a good laugh at all the "little bastard" and "leg the little bastard" comments from the enemy. You know, it is a lot of fun buzzing around a Fafnir and wearing down his 100 tons while he can't even get a shot at you!!

* Next TWL drop. Cybersolo is gathering information for arranging our next league battle. Participants will need to practice in medium and light mechs, and with the maps that are selected once we make the challenge.

* Reminding, our 4th SR unit practices have been scheduled weekly at these times: 8:30 p.m. Eastern Thursday and 10 a.m. Eastern Sunday. Our practices normally are held in the Skye Rangers 4th Open server on the Zone.

Sorry art, I couldn't get with the program, especially the way the SR was going. but its not really my place to say how "I would have preferred it" I could've done better in my share of the workload, but didn't. either way, its time to go. you can take me off the roster, but don't be surprised if you see me someday. Hails all. this is Hydra Steiner.  I hate to say it, but I'm going off the roster, I cant keep time in and I seem to be getting a life. I enjoyed the time I spent in the Skye Rangers. I cant really go through individually and say something about all of you, because I only got to know a few of you. Fox, Firewalker, Raven, Art, Winter. I gotta thank you all for the training and wonderful practices we had. to all the rest of the SR. it was an honor to be here.  May victory be yours!!
