Here is my weekly report for the 3rd Skye Rangers:

as far as my regiment is concerned:

Has been active with a few kills. I received no report from him as of this week. He should be up for promotion to SenSGM. He tried to participate and host last weeks TWL match but had problems with that. I would like to thank him for his efforts however and encourage him to keep trying.

Has been very active on the message board and has posted many kills. Also participated in practice on Monday, as well as many multiplayer games.

I feel it is necessary for our further involvement in TWL and our enjoyment, to adapt to the style of gameplay it fosters. We cannot survive in this environment if we do not learn how to efficiently "jump-snipe". Time and time again we our handed our proverbial rears by the opposing team because they snipe us to death from a jumping orientation. I have tried all sorts of strategies and tactics to no avail. Therefore MaA EDDY and myself have started dedicating our online time to learning the fine art of "Pop-Tarting." I hope that we are not the only 2 that do this seeing as how we play teams of 5 and the 2 of us are good, but not that good. The only other alternative is to join the "Mechwarrior Leagues" in the brawler ladder, where ranged weapons are banned and we may actually have a fighting chance.

For most of this week I was unavailable due to server issues.  Reddog was able to host the SPM practice and for this I say thx.  On Saturday we were defeated during the TWL match and I would suggest we look into a different league that uses FFP as most of us fight that way.  I  may be able to use the Longtom to stop those hill cheaters but other than that I don't see the use.  On Sunday we were forced to reschedule the inter-regimental challenge as members of the 17th were unable to attend.  My thanks to Reddog and Eddy for their dedication.  I would also like to name Eddy an honorary member of the Militia for his efforts to assist our staffing issues.  As soon as, I can get a hold of Hicks to make the arrangements we will let everyone know.

REGIMENT NEWS

* I e-mailed all the cadets this week, offering help in getting their kills, etc. Have not heard back from any of them, not even an acknowledgement of receipt. Depressing.

* What's this rumor about a new mechpak for Mercs? If anyone has anything solid to pass along, please do so.

* 4th SR unit practices are scheduled weekly at these times: 8:30 p.m. Eastern Thursday and 10 a.m. Eastern Sunday. Our practices normally are held in the Skye Rangers 4th Open server on the Zone. Note: I'm still trying to stabilize the server; if it is not available, someone open a game instead, like Kap does :)

* Roster status:

Gallows -- Wednesday practice (pretty good turnout, and Kap hosted some Team Battle games with respawn limits -- a lot of fun, and great practice -- respawn limits compel you to be patient and work with your lancemates. About a dozen miscellaneous Zone games. Drove a Victor, Hauptmann, Atlas and Uziel; not much success with any of them, not a good week for me. This weekend I am going to play with a couple of other chasses, probably Cauldron-Born and Daishi.

Shadow -- No contact. Please report in.

Hunter -- No contact. Please report in.

Fellow "Skye Front Command" and all "Senior Officers" –

As you all know I am the new "Master at Arms". I would like to thank Arturus and the others who supported me for this opportunity to help the Skye-Rangers in this capacity!

When I started with the Rangers there was an in-active member who held the position of SaA. Not long after we found ourselves without a SaA completely! So, I must admit that all thou I have many ideas for what I would like to do while I hold the position of MaA, I do not know what would be truly needed of such a position.

This is why I write to you today. I would like to get your input. What I am looking for is your ideas of what you think we should be doing for our new recruits here in the SR. I’m sure all of you have at one time or another thought to yourself, "If I where the SaA I would…" or maybe, "I think the SaA should…". Well, now is the time to share that great idea! I want to make the SR a great place for people to come to. I want to get the new members active and excited about being a part of this League. I want to do the best job with this position that I can possible do. In order to fulfill these goals I will need the assistance all of you. You are the best and most experienced members of our organization. Your opinions are important to me. Yes, (heaven help me) I want to hear your ideas so that we can try to implement them and get things going around here! "Help Me, Help You"

So, What would you like to see happen? What would you like me to do? What would you like to do? If I think it is possible, I will try to do my best to do it. If you think it would help, I will try to work with you on getting it started. No idea is a bad idea! (Okay there are bad ideas but tell me anyway, it may be better than you think.) The more we can do to help our new recruits, the better our new Rangers will be. Please send me anything you can think of. Your ideas will only help make the SR better!

Tuesday as well as many multiplayer games. He was awarded McKennsy's Groundpounders Medal (GPM), for having over 1,000 kills. He is currently the most active ranger in the 3rd. He requests his mech of choice be changed from the Bushwacker to the Raven.

I am very pleased at the progress and work our new MaA is doing. I have dealt with him on a few details already and he shows great dedication and organization to his duty as our MaA. I again am also pleased with our TAC Cybersolo, and the constant attention that he gives to our fun and success in the TWL league. We all need to be grateful for these two as well as our ever solid General Arturus, and his lovely assistant Fox, for their hard work and dedication. Time and time again they have stayed with us and worked for us when no one else would, because of them this is a fun and ever challenging experience for all of us. So on behalf of the 3rd Skye Rangers and the rest of the SR I salute all of you and thank you for your commitment to us. We are inspired and moved to action because of your fine leadership and example.

On Monday I hosted the SPM practice with a good number of Rangers present. The Militia was present almost every night this week. Reddog and I have been experimenting with the Longtom for mission play games and I think that is working nicely. I ran a few locked games this week and plan on doing this more often to better train the Militia, but all Rangers are welcome. I had a few pop in and then leave before I got to a chance to welcome them. Hicks and I are working on a rematch for the 17th Skye scheduled for June 15th. I will keep you informed as plans progress. Victory to the Rangers.

Hail, Skye Rangers of the 4th SR, and guests!

REGIMENT NEWS

* The 4th's skirmish against the Skye Provice Militia last week was a lot of fun. The SPM was victorious, but Eddy and I fought hard, and hopefully both sides gained some useful experience. Salute to Kap and Reddog for their victory.

* 4th SR unit practices are scheduled weekly at these times: 8:30 p.m. Eastern Thursday and 10 a.m. Eastern Sunday. Our practices normally are held in the Skye Rangers 4th Open server on the Zone.

* Activity seems to have descended to a new low. Only a few warriors showed up for Saturday SR practice. Eh, sonny, I remember the day when you had to fight to get into the Saturday or Sunday practice rooms. For whatever reasons, you can count the number of active SRs on two hands. I'm not outlining this to demoralize anyone, but to hopefully kindle some involvement and activity that will generate new events and successes in the SR. This is a great game platform, so let's not waste it while the paint's still fresh :)

* Arturus is on leave through Thursday. Everyone behave while teach is out.

* Roster status:

Gallows -- Wednesday 4th skirmish vs. the Skye Province Militia; Saturday SR practice; a few Zone games; experimented with new Sunder and Victor variants (did OK with Sunder, got my butt kicked in a Victor in a Rubble Pile game).

Shadow -- Reported in. No activity.

Eddy -- Wednesday 4th skirmish vs. SPM; Saturday SR practice. Probably more but I am not aware.

Hunter -- No contact. Reported in four weeks ago that he was entering a period of downtime.

Ibram Gaunt -- No contact. Arturus, I recommend IB be moved to the Dropship.

I assisted Cadet Chironex in setting himself up on zonestats and I hope he is registering kills shortly. I also have sent an individual report to the command lance on another matter 2 days prior to this one. I hope to hear from someone about it soon. Otherwise it has been a pretty normal week. SGM ShiVa continues to impress me and is showing fabulous advancement in skill and strategy. I would like to formally put him in consideration for the 3rd's next LCOM position if and when we need one. He has shown fine leadership responsibility and excellent respect for the chain of command. I think he would make a fine LCOM in the 3rd. I thank you for your commitment to the Skye Rangers and our fight, and I hope I can live up to the examples you fine gentleman have set.
