Overview:
The Jenner is a relatively modern design, first constructed in 2784 by Diplan Mechyards of Ozawa under contract to House Kurita. It was designed as a fast, hit and run guerrilla fighter. With a Max speed of 118.8 kph and a jump capacity of 150 meters, it was hoped that this mech would form the foundation for a new highly mobile lance.
The original Jenners mounted two Argra 27C medium lasers and a Diplan HD large laser on a central turret, but this configuration could easily be disarmed by a direct hit to the turret. The medium lasers targeting system was plagued with problems. However, because the chassis and mobility sub systems performed well in trials, designers decided to refit the weapon systems instead of scrapping the whole design. The standard ten heat sinks allowed the mech to move swiftly and fire without overheating.
The Jenner was then modified to its current configuration, mounting four Argra 3L medium Lasers, two per side, on directionally variable mountings. The Argra 3L replaced the older 27C because it had a better spectral purity and a more rugged focal system.
The Thunderstroke SRM-4 was installed after additional testing showed the need for increased short ranged firepower. The resulting mech was the pride of Kurita forces. Designed and built at home, it was the optimum mix of speed, jump capacity and firepower.

Capabilities :

Among the fastest mechs around, the Jenner packs good firepower at close range. Its optimum ranger is 30 to 90 meters, and its speed and jump capability makes it hard to hit. The Jenner can move in quickly, make its attack and retreat before it can be seriously damaged.
Because of the Argra 3L medium lasers are the Jenners main armaments, the mech can operate for long periods without running out of ammo. During long engagements or on deep raids, the 25 reloads available to the Thunderstroke SRM-4 could run out and so this missile launcher is mostly used for the Coup de grace or the added hitting power in a difficult moment.
Although the Jenner was designed as a close range fighter, it lacks arms for punching and other physical attacks. The Jenner's designers felt that because of the mechs low tonnage, it would not be able to make efficient physical attacks. The Jenner has done well without them, except in grab and run raids made on enemy supply depots. During these, it lays down covering fire to allow mechs with hands to gather what they can.

Battle History:

When Diplan Mechyards was completing the first Jenners in September 2784, tensions were running high. War seemed inevitable, more a question of when than if. Minoru Kurita took a personal interest in the Jenner, calling it the "first of a new line", and he ordered further design and development on heavier mechs with the Jenners mobility.
It was only fitting that Minoru Kurita's favored mech should avenge his assassination. Waves of Jenners and other fast mechs entered the cities to carry out Jinjiro Kurita's directive to "bathe accursed Kentares in blood" The Jenner earned itself a place as the standard light workhorse of the Draconis Combine.
Despite the outbreak of the first Succession War, construction continued at Diplan until 2815 when a shortage of rew materials brought the assembly lines to a halt. However Diplan continues to produce its mech chassis.
In 2823, production of the Jenners resumed on Ozawa, and some 3,000 chassis were shipped to a Diplan subsidiaryon Luthien for final fittings and assembly. Although heavily damaged by naval bombardment, the Diplan Luthien Corp retooled its remaining plants to Jenner assembly. By 2830, Diplan of Ozawa and Diplan Luthien had a combined annual output of 1350 Jenners.
Throughout the Second Succession War, the Jenner continues the infamous tradition begun during the Kentares Massacre. Used singly or in groups, the Jenner is often sent behind enemy lines to create confusion and havoc. It was during these terror raids that the other houses first captured Jenners.
By 2840, The Federated Suns and the Lyran Comonwealth both had a number of operational Jenners. By 2845, the Jenner was used by all the Successor States, although it continues to be primarily a Kurita mech.
In 2847, elements of the Favion Heavy Guard supplied with Jenners pained in Draconis Combine colors lead a lightning strike against Ozawa, gutting the Diplan Mechyards. One year later, an unexplained explosion destroyed the remaining assembly plant on Lithien, and Jenner production ceased.
Realizing that manufacture of the Jenner was now impossible and yet critically short on mechs, Jinkiro Kurita ordered the Jenners to replace light mechs lost in battle. The Jenner's infamy faded as its individuality was absorbed among its various lancemates.
Despite its fall in status, the Jenner is still a favorite mech of Combine forces and it is the most popular mech in Kurita recon and light attack lances. Occasionally, it is still used as a raider, though this is becoming more and more rare.

Variants:
None of the original prototype Jenners remain, but some without the Thunderstroke SRM04 still survive. These are identical to the standard Jenner, but are more heavily armored.

Overview
The JR7-D features a well rounded hardpoint selection of four energy and two missile hardpoints which allows it to take advantage of the weapons with the greatest weight to damage ratios like Medium Lasers and SRMs. The JR7-D was one of the four Founders BattleMechs which featured a unique skin and 25% bonus.

Stock Loadout
With four Medium Lasers and a SRM 4 it out guns most other light 'Mechs by a large margin. Point in fact, it hits nearly as hard as a 50 ton Hunchback HBK-4G and even harder than the 60 ton Dragon DRG-1N at close ranges. However, the Jenner is woefully light on Heat Sinks when compared with its heavy firepower.

Strengths
This model of Jenner has a well dispersed hardpoint layout. Two energy hardpoints in each arm allow the JR7-D to aim all energy weapons together which is very useful when considering the high flying combat experienced pilots will be able to employ in this 'Mech. A max of five Jump Jets limit the airborn time when compared to the Spider but allow it to easily clear most obstacles.

Weaknesses
Both available missile hardpoints must share only two available critical spaces in the center torso. However, the limited tonnage of the light Jenner means it would be unable to mount much more than two SRM 4s or SSRM 2s. The Jenner is handicapped when in combat against other light 'Mechs equipped with ECM. Any Streak missiles mounted on the Jenner will be incapable of locking on and firing while the Jenner would be left at the mercy of any Streak missiles the enemy might have.

Design Quirks
All Jenners lack lower arm actuators and so arm mounted weapons will not be able to traverse sideways. While weapons convergence between the torso and arm mounted weapons is not a concern, some ability to track fast targets is lost. This is mostly negated by the fast torso twist speed and large torso twist range. Additionally, missiles will only fire in waves of four at a time.

Overview
The JR7-F features an all energy load out. With six energy Hardpoints, three in each arm, the -F is easily capable of tracking its targets on uneven terrain and while jumping through the sky.

Stock Loadout
The JR7-F drops the SRM 4 from the JR7-D model in favor of nearly doubling the armor. It does retain the four arm mounted Medium Lasers though. This gives it greater durability, freedom from ammunition concerns, and slightly less heat build up.

Strengths
The JR7-F, like all Jenners, is among the fastest 'Mechs available. It is also capable of jumping over obstacles thanks to the ability to mount up to five jump jets. Six energy hardpoints allow the -F, all of which are arm mounted, allow the design to focus all of its fire power and to keep fire on targets even when fighting on terrain that might hinder torso mounted weaponry.

Weaknesses
Like other Jenners, the JR7-F lacks lower arm actuators, which means that the arm mounted weaponry will not traverse from side to side faster than the torso no aim farther than the limitation of the torso twist range. Also, the lack of ECM will put this model at a disadvantage when fighting other ECM capable 'Mechs such as the Raven RVN-3L or Commando COM-2D.

Overview
The JR7-K can be directly compared to the Jenner JR7-D. Both have identical movement profiles and have a similar hardpoint layout. Where the -D has two center torso mounted missile Hardpoints though, the -K has not one, but two additional module slots. Four arm mounted energy hardpoints make up the bulk of the available firepower though and allow the 'Mech to keep its weapons on target in rough terrain and while jumping through the air.

Stock Loadout
The JR7-K is a recent model for the Jenner that upgrades the JR7-D with Ferro Fibrous armor. The lighter armor provides nearly the same protection, but allows the addition of CASE for the SRM 4 ammunition, which increases the 'Mech's overall durability.

Strengths
The JR7-K can match the speed of the fastest 'Mechs available. Four arm mounted energy weapons allows the -K to accurately strike up close and a single torso mounted missile hardpoint allows the 'Mech to mount hardhitting SRMs. Additionally, three module slots, four if you unlock the master Efficiency, allows the 'Mech to take advantage of more modules than most available 'Mechs.

Weaknesses
The JR7-K has one less missile hardpoint than the otherwise identical JR7-D. As an end game 'Mech though, the inclusion of three - four module slots will more than make up for that however. The lack of ECM does put it at a significant disadvantage when compared to other light 'Mechs that can mount the equipment, such as the Commando COM-2D and Raven RVN-3L.

Overview
The JR7-F(C) is a Champion version of the popular Jenner JR7-F. On top of the JR7-F's formidable hardpoint layout, the Champion version comes with stock equipment that continue to be useful on customized builds and a 10% bonus to the 'Mechs XP.

Stock Loadout
The Champion Jenner's loadout of three Medium Lasers and three Small Lasers increases the the damage potential of the normal JR7-F, though at the cost of range. More impressive is the list of upgrades included on this 'Mech. The inclusion of Double Heat Sinks, Endo-Steel structure, and Ferro Fibrous armor saves the owner millions of C-Bills that would had to have been spent otherwise. Also included is a very useful 300 rated XL Engine, which also be standard equipment on most all custom builds.

Strengths
The JR7-F(C), like all Jenners, is among the fastest 'Mechs available.
