The Clash of the Mechs

As Warrant Officer Jacob Van Nowak awoke that morning, he heard reports, of two clans going to full-fledged war with each other. As many did he ran to the Mech holding, and helped out many mech officers, to help stop this foolish battle. He only prepared for the worst. As the battle began, there must have been 25-40 mechs, going in an all out force. As Jacob Watched in Awe as this was the first battle he had seen, since he had joined the Skye Rangers. The strength and agility of these things amazed him. As where he came from he had heard about mechs, and had seen them, but never saw them in action. He saw the quad laser blasting into one another, they were clashing, and the sounds of the battle could have been heard 15 miles away. It was an amazing site, and the clans finally stopped fighting, as skye had knocked some off, it finally managed to get the two clans attention, and to try and gain them to stop. For this Jacob began his first day on the job, to the sounds of the clashing mech warriors.

The Big Day

Today would be a big day for the Skye Rangers. It would be an Arena battle, against another clan. This clan was not to well known, but fierce warriors, known for their aggression. Many of Skye's Mechwarriors signed-up. The Arena was a vast dome, on the Skye Home planet. Many people filled the dome, that day to watch the clans battle it out. To their amazement, each side began loosing an equal amount of warriors. The people loved it though. Finally towards the end, it all came down to two warriors, one from the fighting clan, called the Black Knight, in a Atlas, and one man from Skye, known as SGM Karimcus in his Thanatos. Karimcus stepped into the arena as did the Black Knight and the battle began. The Mechs fought fiercely, quad lasers hitting each another. The crowd was quiet at points but cheering in others, till finally the Black Knight knocked the Skye Ranger to the ground, many believed this was it, as most of Karimicus' weapons were starting to malfunction due to all the blows, it's a wonder he still keep his mech working. When, as the Black knight moved in to shoot the weapon, Karimicus switched most energy, to his jets, allowing him to jump which then rammed his Mech into the Black Knights, smashing him into the side of the wall, making the Mech inoperable. As Karimicus walked away with his mech torn, he had won at the arena not only for himself, but also for the Skye Rangers.

Another Day Around the Base

As a warrant officer, everyday on the base isn't the easiest, from doing the smallest duties, as riding around to various parts of the base, to spending hours, fixing a mech. As it did have its advantages, there was always a good nightlife, if you weren't too tired to enjoy it. The "Cantinas would always be reliable for fights. Then there's always watching the mech training, but this particular night, Jacob had other duties, as there was suspected to be a big battle within the week. Jacob was busy fixing the Mechs. As his Boss was drinking coffee in his office, Jacob heard a big boom. He reported it to his boss, in turn reporting it to the head of the unit. It ended up a Mech had blown up, but as the officers searched it, the markings on it, weren't from this planet, clans known around, or any war colleges. The markings were very distinct too. The marking were the symbol of one big triangle, separated into four small ones, making this big triangle, with the middle small one missing. It was the color gold. It was taken to be studied, but Jacob felt as if something was going to happen, would something happen… or would something not….

New Recruits

As the transport pulled into the base, many new recruits piled out, there were many Mech Warrior recruits, and warrant officer recruits, all here for one reason. To train, and become part of Skye. This routine was very normal, and happened once every month or so. As Skye wasn't at war too often, it lost very few men to war; most men were lost due to reserves, retirement, etc. The Training officer was out there that morning filling in the new recruits and assigning them their training duties. Many of the Recruits were very young, but some old. The question was whether, as new ones are brought in, is will they be able to handle their new life as a Skye Ranger? But the training officer always says that's what he is there for. Jacob, that day, was assigned to teaching some of the new recruits, heading to be warrant officers, to tour them around, show them what they might do in a day's work, and teach them some interesting things, and then ask them some questions, and then send them back to the training officer. Well he did just that. It was a long day, but he only had 10 new recruits so it was easy. It was also his first time though. Teaching new recruits. So after the day was over Jacob was off to the Bars, to have a drink, and relax.
